TILLIE’S LILY (f, 4, Distorted Humor–Supreme {SW & GSP, $162,89}, by Empire Maker) was a perfect and promising three for-three last season, and picked up right where she left off here in her first start as a 4-year-old. The $200,000 KEESEP yearling romped by 8 1/2 lengths in a rained-off Gulfstream special weight in July, and defeated a pair of next-out winners when making it onto the sod there Sept. 1. Stretched out a bit going down the hill at Santa Anita Oct. 29, the result for Tillie’s Lily was the same–she dominated from the start to earn a career-top Beyer Speed Figure of 89. Even-money for this having prepped mostly at Bridlewood Farm before a leg stretcher on the Belmont training track May 27, Tillie’s Lily took up her expected spot at the head of affairs as she motored along through splits of :22.11 and :45.12. Only seeming for a few strides like she could be beaten, the bay hit another gear inside the eighth pole and strode under the wire two lengths clear of Miss Gossip (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}). The winner’s dam, a talented turf sprinter in her own right who sold for $800,000 in foal to Giant’s Causeway at KEEJAN ’13, has an unraced 2-year-old filly named Ghost Inthe Mirror (Ghostzapper) who was a $70,000 KEESEP yearling and recently breezed at Prairie Meadows. Hailing from the family ofMonarchos, Supreme produced a Hard Spun colt last term before being bred back to Carpe Diem. Lifetime Record: 4-4-0-0, $127,800.
